Saudi Effective Mediation
It is worth noting that the Kingdom has consistently emphasized its support for a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis.
A few weeks ago, Saudi Crown Prince HRH Mohammed bin Salman’s mediation efforts resulted in the conclusion of a prisoner exchange deal between the Russian and Ukrainian sides. In this deal, 10 foreign prisoners captured in Ukraine were released.
This step was taken at the time in the Crown Prince’s interests, as a continuation of his efforts to adopt humanitarian initiatives in response to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, and as a result of his ongoing efforts with the relevant countries.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Prince Faisal assured Lavrov that the Kingdom would continue working with all parties and support international efforts to resolve the Ukrainian political crisis.
