Royal Decree: Saudi Arabia Appoints New Investment Minister

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on Thursday issued a series of royal decrees announcing new appointments on the ministerial, judicial and advisory levels, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Fahad bin Abduljalil Al-Saif has replaced Khalid Al-Falih as the new Minister of Investment. Meanwhile, another royal decree appointed Al-Falih as Minister of State and Member of the Council of Ministers.

Royal Decrees

Another decree appointed Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Yousef Public Prosecutor at the rank of minister, relieving him of his post as president of the Board of Grievances, while the former Public Prosecutor, Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib, was appointed adviser at the Royal Court at the rank of minister.

Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Ahidib was appointed President of the Board of Grievances at the rank of minister. Another decree appointed Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Arifi Governor of the National Development Fund at the rank of Excellence.

Furthermore, Princess Haifa bint Mohammed was named adviser at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers at the rank of minister. Eng. Haitham Al-Ohali was named as Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission; while Eng. Fawaz Al-Sahli was appointed President of the Transport General Authority.

Security appointments included naming Faihan bin Fahd bin Ghazi Al-Sehli as Director-General of General Directorate of Investigation at the rank of Excellence and Saad bin Saleh bin Mohammed Al-Luhaidan as Adviser at the Office of the President of State Security at the rank of Excellence.

The decrees also promoted Major General Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghalib Al-Dhowaibi to the rank of Lieutenant General and appointed him Vice President of the Royal Guard. Moreover, Major General Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Maiman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.

Regional Appointments

The cabinet reshuffle also included regional appointments. Prince Fawaz bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud was appointed Governor of Taif, while Prince Rakan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud was appointed Governor of Diriyah.

Meanwhile, Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Turki Al Saud was named Deputy Governor of Al-Baha. Additionally, Prince Saud bin Nahar and Prince Mohammed bin Abdullah were appointed as Deputy Governors for the Madinah and Northern Borders regions, respectively.
