The Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), Turki Al-Alshaikh, announced that heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois will be held in London on September 21, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
This awaited clash will come after the first Riyadh Season overseas clash, set to take place in Los Angeles on August 3.
The match will bring together American Terence Crawford and Uzbek Madrimov.
Anthony Joshua, former two-time unified champion, will take on Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium, providing British fans and visitors to London the opportunity to experience a Riyadh Season event weeks before the official launch of the 2024 Season in Riyadh.
Daniel Dubois has secured a technical knockout (TKO) victory against his opponent Filip Hrgovic in Riyadh during the “5vs5” Boxing Showdown.
“We are pleased to bring two of the world’s best heavyweight fighters together in their hometown of London, specifically at Wembley Stadium, a historic venue for the sport of boxing,” Al-Alshaikh said.
The clash is one of six all-British fights confirmed to take place at Wembley Stadium.
They will highlight a special guest music act with further details to follow.
“We know it will be another exciting contest, complemented by a great undercard of fights, we look forward to giving British fans and visitors to London the opportunity to experience a Riyadh Season event just a matter of weeks before we officially launch the 2024 Season in Riyadh in October.” Al-Alshaikh added.
