Riyadh Governor crowns the winners of the 72nd ceremony of The Saud Jockey Club

Governor of Riyadh, HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, crowned the winners of the 77th ceremony of The Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia in the opening of the major championships for the first category with the “Two Cups of the Crown Prince” in its fifty-seventh edition for horses produced “locally” and imported, on the grounds of King Abdulaziz Square in Janadriyah, with a prize of SAR 1 million.

Upon his arrival, he was received by His Royal Highness Prince Mutaib bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Equestrian Authority and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Horse Racing Club.

After the end of the tenth round, His Highness, the Emir of the Riyadh region, handed over the Crown Prince Cup for (local) production to the first-place winner, Naghemish bin Fahd bin Abdul Hadi Al-Ajmi, after the victory of the horse (Al-Mubeer).

After that, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar, after the end of the last round, crowned Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz with the Crown Prince Cup for (imported) production, after the horse (May Frankel) won first place.

The ceremony was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, and a number of Their Highnesses princes and senior officials.

The Saudi Equestrian Federation signed an agreement with the Sports Track Foundation to become an official sports partner for the 2022-2023 season championships.

The signing took place in the presence of Prince Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Equestrian Federation, and Jayne McGivern, CEO of Sports Boulevard Foundation, at the “Saudi Jump” headquarters in Janadriyah.

Prince Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah considered this partnership a positive reflection of the present and future partnerships of the equestrian sector in the Kingdom, which enjoys the support and attention of wise leadership, and the permanent and continuous follow-up of His Highness the Minister of Sports.

It led to the development of this sport and enabled the Saudi Equestrian Federation to host international competitions and events.

For her part, Jayne McGivern confirmed that this joint cooperation comes out of the synergy of efforts between both parties. This is to establish activities that serve the sport of horseback riding in accordance with the highest quality standards. She expressed her deep happiness with this partnership.

McGivern indicated that forming a partnership with the equestrian community is one of the most critical goals of the sports track.

McGivern said that this is one of the foundations of the foundation that seeks to provide a sustainable healthy life for all individuals and segments of society. In line with the Kingdom 2030 vision and goals.

It is worth noting that the Sports Track project is one of the four major projects in the city of Riyadh launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on March 19, 2019, with the initiative and interest of His Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The project is located on Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Road, with a length of more than 135 km. It connects Wadi Hanifa in the west of the city of Riyadh and Wadi Al-Sulay in the east, through a network of safe and wooded paths for pedestrians, cyclists, athletes, and horse riders.

The project includes 4.4 million square meters of open green spaces, about 50 sites for various sports, and artistic landmarks throughout. In addition, there are horse riding facilities with a total area of more than 134 km.
