Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb, who also chairs the Board of Directors of the Tourism Development Fund (TDF), officially inaugurated the Rixos Murjana Resort on Sunday, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The project was enabled by TDF in its role as investor and financier, highlighting its mission as the Kingdom’s national tourism enabler.
Rixos Murjana Resort
The Rixos Murjana Resort was developed in partnership with Emaar, the Economic City (EEC)—the master developer of King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC)—which joined as an investor. Meanwhile, FTG Development Co. served as the project’s developer.

As the largest all-inclusive destination in Saudi Arabia, the resort will open its doors KAEC, welcoming visitors from across the Kingdom and the whole world.
Designed as a premier destination for families and leisure seekers, the Rixos Murjana Resort features 488 rooms and suites with sweeping sea views, alongside 33 private villas.
Integrated Experience
To offer an integrated experience at King Abdullah Economic City, the resort provides guests with fitness center, a sports complex, and modern meeting and conference facilities.
The resort also serves as a captivating family destination, introducing the ‘Murjana Waterpark’—the Kingdom’s first fully integrated hotel water park with 11 diverse water experiences.
Moreover, the project is set to generate 250 jobs for Saudi nationals.

Significant Milestone
Tourism Minister underscored that the opening of the resort marks a significant milestone in developing distinctive tourism destinations across Saudi Arabia.
Al-Khateeb added that the launch mirrors the readiness of new projects to embark on the operational phase and welcome visitors from both within the Kingdom and abroad.
He also noted that the Rixos Murjana Resort crystalizes the Tourism Development Fund’s mission of turning investments into prestigious destinations in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
