PM IMRAN KHAN QUARANTINED AFTER TESTING POSITIVE FOR COVID-19
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, two days after the PM got his vaccination.
Faisal Sultan, Health Minister said in a tweet that the PM is “self-isolating at home”.
The 68 year old PM has been holding regular and frequent meetings lately. This includes the security conference that was held in the capital – Islamabad. The conference was attended by a large number of people. While he was seen attending it without a mask, he was also seen attending another gathering on Friday in a similar fashion. Khan was vaccinated on Thursday.
Pakistan has seen a sharp rise in the number of cases. The total number of infections in the country has crossed 620,000, with a total of 13,800 deaths. The approved vaccines in the country are Chinese Sinopharm and CanSinoBio, Oxford-AstraZeneca and Russia’s Sputnik V.
