Our relations with Saudi Arabia are developing based on common interests: Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated in a speech at the start of the new legislative year in the Turkish Parliament in the capital, Ankara that Turkish diplomacy is at its most successful period.
“Our relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are developing based on shared interests,” he added.
Erdogan stated that humanity is living in a difficult time marked by epidemics, wars, crises, and insecurity.
He suggested that the world is on the verge of a great spiral that threatens social peace, people’s desire for coexistence, and democratic gains.
He went on, “Turkey, which is located at the crossroads of three continents, is the country most impacted by these changes. As a result, it lacks the luxury of shutting down, isolating itself from the outside world, and watching events in its region.”
In light of these facts, he emphasized that Turkey is working hard to meet its obligations to its friends, brothers, and citizens.
The Turkish president stated that his country pursues a constructive and active policy in resolving global and regional issues, adding, “I say it with great pride, Turkish diplomacy is in its most successful phase.”
He went on, “With an honorable, patient, firm, and wise stance, we vigorously defend Turkey’s rights and interests in all fields.
As a mediator and facilitator, Turkey has evolved into a diplomatic power whose ideas and recommendations are taken into account in the international arena.”
He stated that Turkey has one of the world’s top five diplomatic networks, with 255 representations outside the country.
