OIC welcomes the outcomes of the Jeddah Summit for Security and Development

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the outcomes of the Jeddah Summit for Security and Development hosted by Saudi Arabia, the Chair of the Islamic Summit in its fourteenth session (Saturday), in Jeddah with the participation of the GCC countries, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and the USA.

The General Secretariat commended the contents of the speeches delivered by the leaders of the participating countries during this summit, which provided an accurate diagnosis of the crises the region is going through and the challenges it faces.
The General Secretariat affirmed its support for all Arab and international efforts aimed at achieving security, development, and stability in the region.

The ICO represents the collective voice of the Islamic world and seeks to protect and express its interests in support of international peace and harmony and to strengthen relations between the various peoples of the world. In 1970, the first Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The OIC is the second largest intergovernmental organization after the UN. Its membership includes fifty-seven (57) member states spread over four continents.

The organization is considered the unifying voice of the Islamic world that guarantees and protects its interests in the social, political, and economic fields. The OIC has institutions implementing its programs as the headquarters is in Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
