The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the launch of MSC’s new Gulf Shuttle service at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. This step is set to strengthen the global standing of Saudi ports, facilitate international trade flows, and boost operational efficiency.
The service will connect King Abdulaziz Port with key regional ports, including Sharjah and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, as well as Umm Qasr in Iraq. It offers a handling capacity of up to 3,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units).
The addition of this service reflects Mawani’s continued efforts to improve Saudi Arabia’s position in global logistics rankings while enhancing performance at King Abdulaziz Port. It also contributes to expanding national exports and supports the goals of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub linking three continents.
