Mohammed bin Salman receives US President’s envoy for climate change
The Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, received the US President’s envoy for climate change, John Kerry, in Riyadh.
During the meeting, they discussed the following:
- Reducing emissions
- Efforts made on a global scale to combat the issue of climate change
- The Kingdom’s high-quality initiatives in response to the problem of climate change
- Preserving the environment and its components
- Initiatives such as Green Saudi Arabia
- Adoption carbon economy
On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by the Minister of Energy Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Minister of Defense Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, and the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdul Rahman Al-Fadhli.
On the US side, attended the Chargé d’Affairs of the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia Martina Strong, Head of Climate Ambition and Implementation Team Jonathan Pershing, and Head of Global Innovation and Completion Varun Sivaram.
