“I’m ready,” says Biden on the summit with Putin
US President Joe Biden has expressed his conviction that he is ready for the upcoming summit with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
“I’m always ready,” Biden said, in response to a question from reporters after a meeting with Swiss President Guy Parlehemin, in Geneva.
On Wednesday, the Swiss Geneva will host the first summit between Putin and Biden after the latter took over as US president in January 2021. The meetings will take place when both parties have stated that bilateral relations between Russia and the United States have reached an all-time low.
The talks will focus on “problems that represent shared irritants in bilateral relations,” according to Russian Vice President Yury Ushakov”.
The two leaders will discuss issues of strategic stability, combating the COVID-19 pandemic, cybercrime, regional files such as the Ukrainian crisis, the situation in the Middle East, and the Azerbaijani-Armenian conflict in Karabakh.
