Ministry of Culture Launches Nabati Poetry Festival in Qassim
High Turnout on First Day of Festival
The Ministry of Culture today launched the “Nabati Poetry Festival” in its first edition in the Qassim region, according to Saudi Press Agency.
This festival features a variety of activities, events, and evenings with a selection of poets, in a winter atmosphere. This reflects the Saudi society’s customs in winter.
This is part of the initiatives of “The Year of Arabic Poetry 2023,”. It also aimed to shed light on the most important Nabati poets.
High Turnout on First Day of Festival
This festival had many visitors on its first day. A prominent samr tree at the entrance welcomed them. The “Kashta” area was a festival highlight. It also offered outdoor cultural seating and a fire pit inspired by the ‘samr tree’ for warmth.
Diverse Festival Activities
This festival featured activities like live cooking of traditional foods from the Kingdom and the Arabian Gulf.
A desert-themed musical stage showcased 3D poetry and various performances with instruments like the oud and rebab to create enjoyable atmosphere.
Main Stage Highlights Nabati Poetry
The festival’s main stage displayed Nabati poetry through a 3D interface. It also hosted cultural events, including poetry evenings with elite Nabati poets and the “Fann Al-Qalta” poetry dialogue event, a tradition of the Arabian Peninsula.
Tent, Closing Experiences
The festival included a tent for visitors to converse under Nabati poetry’s canopy with Saudi coffee prepared on firewood. Additionally, The “Shatr” area allowed visitors to get a Nabati verse with their name on festival-themed paper.
Nabati Poetry Festival in “Year of Arabic Poetry 2023”
Consequently, the “Nabati Poetry Festival” is part of the Ministry of Culture’s “Year of Arabic Poetry 2023” initiative. This celebration highlights important cultural symbols of Saudi and Arab culture.
Finally, the festival aims to preserve Saudi identity by focusing on Nabati poetry. It enhanced its cultural status, and enriching the Kingdom’s poetic scene.
