The Ministry of Tourism has announced that the licensed hospitality facilities in Makkah have reached more than 1,000 by the end of 2024, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
According to the ministry, the facilities recorded an 80% growth compared to 2023. This noticeable increase makes Mecca an exceptional region boasting the highest number of licensed facilities and rooms in the Kingdom in 2024.
The ministry has emphasized its commitment to ensuring the rights of visitors and pilgrims who benefit from the services of hospitality facilities in Makkah.
As part of its continuous efforts to provide visitors with seamless services, the ministry’s inspection teams conduct regular monitoring and inspection visits throughout the year to ensure that all facilities comply with licensing requirements.
Crucially, these visits also seek to detect violations and impose fines if needed under the Tourism Law and Regulations of Tourist Accommodation Facilities.
