KSrelief Holds Talks with UN Officials on Yemen Aid

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center KSrelief held meetings with the United Nations officials to discuss the aid projects in Yemen, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Director of the Department of Partnerships and International Relations at KSrelief, Dr. Hana Omar, met on Sunday with Markus Werne, the director of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen.

Werne praised the Kingdom’s humanitarian and relief efforts in assisting vulnerable people in the Arab nation and around the world.

The officials commended Saudi Arabia’s relief projects and its pivotal role in alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

In April, KSrelief distributed 3,000 cartons of dates to the most vulnerable families in Aden Governorate, as part of the date distribution project in Yemen.

Furthermore, it distributed tents and shelter bags in Aden to support the displaced people and protect them.

In May, KSrelief distributed 150 heads of livestock in Al-Jawf Governorate to benefit 50 displaced families.

The initiative was part of a Saudi project aimed at supporting the orphans and economically empowering their families. It achieved great success in Yemeni governorates of Aden, Lahj, Ma’rib, Hadhramaut, Al-Mahra, Al-Jawf, Taiz, and Al-Hudaydah..

Furthermore, it focused on empowering 440 breadwinners by providing them with sustainable job opportunities and health and educational support.

The center has recently distributed the meat from 480 slaughtered animals to 6,720 people in Yemen.

The project aimed at providing 2,330 animals for slaughter to benefit 32,620 people in the governorates of Aden, Hadramout, Al-Mahra, Marib, and Lahj.
