KSA to Host 2025 Asia Cup

The Asian Executive Office of the International Basketball Federation announced that Saudi Arabia has been chosen, for the second time in its history, to organize the 2025 Asia Cup for men. 16 Asian teams will be participating.
The Kingdom won the vote by the Asian Executive Office after submitting a comprehensive file that includes all organizational aspects of the tournament. In 1996, this tournament took place in the capital, Riyadh.
The President of the Saudi Basketball Federation, Ghassan Tashkandi, expressed his happiness at hosting the most prominent Asian basketball event. He also stressed that hosting this event is an extension of the international championships that the Kingdom organizes in various sectors of sports. Yet, this is possible due to the generous support of the wise leadership.
“Today marks a pivotal moment as we entrust Saudi Arabia with the honor of hosting the upcoming FIBA Asia Cup in 2025,” said Hagop Khajirian, Executive Director of FIBA Regional Office
It is noteworthy that the tournament takes place every four years. The last edition was in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. The Australian team won the tournament back then.
