KSA participates in session 209 of the UNESCO Executive Council

Tomorrow, Saudi Arabia will participate in the 209th session works of UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Executive Council.

It will last 11 days after the previously scheduled appointment was postponed last March due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic throughout the world.

Saudi Arabia’s participation is the first as a member of the Executive Council since it won the Council’s membership in November last year, and it is the second highest executive formation in UNESCO after the General Conference.

The Saudi Culture Minister, Chairman of the National Committee for Education, Science and Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, stated that the election of Saudi Arabia confirms its international standing and its role in building peace and contribute effectively to establishing principles of culture and science.

The sessions of the Executive Board of UNESCO are considered one of the most important activities of the international organization.
