King Salman: Saudi Arabia Remains Committed to Achieving Muslim Aspirations
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz stressed that Saudi Arabia will maintain its commitments towards meeting the aspirations of Muslims.
This stance was made during a speech delivered on his behalf by the Governor of the Makkah region Prince Khalid al-Faisal during the opening of the International Conference on Islamic Unity held in Makkah.
The conference is being attended by 1,200 dignitaries from 127 countries.
King Salman stressed the need to “raise awareness and correct misconceptions about Islam by holding dialogue in order to achieve solidarity among brothers.”
He urged the gatherers to assume their religious duties in confronting the threats against the Muslim ummah. He called on them to reject differences and unite their ranks to confront adversity and spread the correct image of Islam.
“The entire world is eagerly looking at this blessed gathering and has its hopes set that it will overcome the obstacles that are hindering Islamic unity,” he continued.
