The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language will host its third international conference from October 6 to 7 in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Themed “Arabic Language Computing and Enriching Linguistic Data,” the conference will highlight the participation of several university professors and 40 researchers from 22 countries around the world.
Moreover, the event will bring together various local, regional and international institutions specialized in computational linguistics, computer science, and the Arabic language.
The conference aims to bridge the gap between computer scientists and linguists, support Arabic blogs to improve and develop artificial intelligence models, and promote the automatic processing of the Arabic language.
Thus, it represents a valuable platform for specialists to discuss issues related to linguistic data in an attempt to improve its quality, availability and scale.
The coming edition will also tackle various topics on the automated processing of the Arabic language, as follows:
- Machine learning
- Converting spoken speech to texts
- Automatic recognition of image texts,
- Computational linguistics in learning and teaching the Arabic language, such as: linguistic corpora
- The digital dictionary industry
- Modern technologies in computing dictionaries
- The latest methods in building linguistic corpora and data sources
- The latest experiences in managing research centers specialized in language computing
The conference stands as a testament to the Academy’s commitment to capturing possible opportunities to serve the Arabic language, preserve its integrity, and enhance its global position.
