SDAIA Launches Allam Challenge 2024: Arabic Language Prizes Worth 1 Million Riyals
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has announced the launch of the Allam Challenge.
This initiative aims to serve the Arabic language by developing and improving large language models (LLM) using the Allam model in various fields. These fields include creating a model capable of understanding Arabic poetry, developing an AI that can accurately parse Arabic sentences. Additionally, it involves developing an AI that can simulate and engage in dialogue with an Arab personality.
This initiative is part of SDAIA’s ongoing efforts to build and develop national capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence.
Allam Challenge
The Allam Challenge focuses on finding innovative solutions by developing large language models (LLMs) in the Arabic language using the “Allam” model. Additionally, the challenge will enable participants to benefit from training opportunities conducted by experts in the fields of artificial intelligence.
The Allam Challenge is scheduled to launch during the third edition of the Global AI Summit at the beginning of next September. Moreover, the winners will be announced next November and will be honored with awards worth up to one million riyals.
“SDAIA” invited those wishing to join the challenge to take the initiative to register through the link https://allam.tuwaiq.edu.sa/ during the period from July 21, 2024 to August 20, 2024.
It is noted that the Allam model is a national AI that responds to beneficiaries’ inquiries across various knowledge fields. It’s also integrated into IBM’s Watsonx platform and recognized as a top generative AI model for Arabic speakers globally.
