King Salman Airport Partners with 4 Top Design, Engineering Firms

King Salman International Airport Development Company, a Public Investment Fund subsidiary, has signed strategic partnership contracts with four top local and international companies in architecture, engineering, construction, and air traffic management. This marks a new phase in developing the airport, aiming to make it a central hub for tourism, travel, and transportation in Riyadh.

Foster & Partners will design a 57-square-kilometer airport master plan with multiple terminals and six runways. Moreover, the design will include a real estate area and reflect Riyadh’s identity and Saudi culture.

Jacobs will provide consultancy for the airport’s master plan and runway design. Mace will apply global best practices and advanced methodologies throughout planning and construction.  Additionally, Nera, an aviation specialist, will enhance air traffic efficiency and operational processes with the latest technologies.

Strategic Collaboration, Master Plan

The Acting CEO of King Salman International Airport Development Company, Marco Mejia, said: “We are committed to developing an airport that will be a leading model in the aviation world, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. This collaboration is a key step in developing King Salman International Airport into an exceptional destination for travelers. The master plan for the airport was announced in November 2022 by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Furthermore, the King Salman International Airport Development Company, fully owned by the Public Investment Fund, aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
