King Abdullah Sports City to Host Saudi Arabia vs. Japan in 2026 World Cup Qualifiers
Saudi Arabia is set to host Japan in the third round of the Asian 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Thursday, October 10, at King Abdullah Sports City.
The Green Falcons currently hold the second position in Group C of the World Cup qualifiers, trailing group leaders Japan by two points with four points in total.
Commencing their World Cup qualifying journey with a 1-1 draw against Indonesia, Saudi Arabia secured a crucial 2-1 victory over China in the second round.
Meanwhile, Japan dominated their early matches, thrashing China 7-0 in the group stage opener and subsequently defeating Bahrain 5-0 in the following round.
Situated 30 kilometers north of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, King Abdullah Sports City is a versatile sports complex boasting a main stadium along with three football fields and four small indoor arenas dedicated to football matches. Additionally, the city features six tennis courts, a spacious indoor arena, a main mosque, and several smaller mosques.
Completing its facilities, the city houses a well-equipped media center that includes expansive rooms utilized for press conferences involving players, coaches, and football personalities.
