Khalid bin Salman: The security of the Yemeni people is our highest priority
The Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman, confirmed recently that the security and stability of Yemen is one of the highest priorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing the Kingdom’s keenness and permanent work to achieve this.
He said in a series of tweets on his official account on Twitter, “The statement confirmed the Alliance to Support Legitimacy in Yemen towards the surprising announcement of the Southern Transitional Council, foremost of which is the Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, their keenness and permanent work on security and stability in Yemen, restoring conditions to normalcy, and returning to implement the Riyadh agreement and its support for the legitimate government to serve the brotherly Yemeni people. “
The statement of the Alliance for Support of Legitimacy in Yemen towards the surprising announcement of the Southern Transitional Council, led by the Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, their keenness and permanent work on security and stability in Yemen, returning conditions to normal and returning to implement the Riyadh agreement and its support for the legitimate government to serve the brotherly Yemeni people.
He also clarified that “expediting the implementation of the Riyadh agreement is a national responsibility that falls on the two signatories in response to the aspirations of the Yemeni people and their desire for peace in light of the efforts made and ongoing by the coalition to support and encourage the parties to implement the Riyadh agreement and not to take any escalatory steps contrary to the Riyadh agreement.”
He continued, “The Kingdom places the brotherly Yemeni people and supports its security and stability and the restoration of the institutions of its state as its highest priority, and calls on the parties to the agreement for the speedy return of their representatives in the committees, work teams and joint operations rooms under the supervision of the coalition to accelerate the implementation of the agreement for the sake of the Yemeni citizen whose interest is above all other interests.”
He also said, “For the sake of the brotherly Yemeni people, I have made and will make every effort to heal his pain and live a peaceful security in a country where there is no place for conflict and chaos, and for this we seek to work to provide all support to the Yemenis to achieve the security and stability that they seek.”

In addition to that, the Alliance for Support of Legitimacy in Yemen, led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, announced on Monday the necessity of returning the situation to its previous state, following the declaration of a state of emergency by the Transitional Council through its recent statement and the resulting developments of events in the temporary capital (Aden) and some southern governorates of the Republic of Yemen.
Stressing the need to cancel any step that violates the Riyadh agreement and work to accelerate its implementation, pointing to the widespread international welcome and direct support from the United Nations, according to what was published by the Saudi Press Agency “SPA”.
He also demanded the cessation of any activities or escalatory movements, and calls for a return to complete the implementation of the agreement immediately and without delay, and to give priority to the interests of the Yemeni people over any other interests, and work to achieve the goal of restoring the state, ending the coup and countering terrorist organizations.
