Jeddah Hosts Saudi Intermobility Expo 2024

Saudi Arabia is hosting a wide gathering of road, rail, and transport professionals from across the Middle East and North Africa at the Saudi Intermobility Expo 2024, taking place from November 11-13, 2024, at Jeddah International Convention and Exhibition Center, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Expo, inaugurated by the Saudi Vice Minister of Transport and Acting CEO of the Roads General Authority (RGA), Badr Abdullah Al-Dulami, involves more than 50 seminars, 90 speakers, and over 7,000 participants from more than 10 countries.

The RGA, through its strategic partnership, aims to foster its leading role in overseeing the road network and regulating the road sector, in addition to adopting the latest global technologies in the road sector. It also aims to strengthen cooperation with the local and international entities relevant to the sector, as well as contributing to developing the road and transport infrastructure.

The RGA seeks to engage with several companies and participate in such specialized exhibitions in order to exchange expertise and explore promising opportunities in the sector, in addition to discussing the latest advanced technologies in the road sector. This contributes to achieving the strategic objectives of the road sector which focuses on safety, quality and traffic density.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Saudi Intermobility Expo 2024, Al-Dulami said: “The road network and other modes of transportation play a vital role in connecting regions, enhancing trade support, driving the economy in general, and supporting tourism.”

He explained how the RGA utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to evaluate roads, according to Arab News.

“We are also excited to discuss advancements in the Saudi Highway Code, (which) aims to provide a unified technical reference for the roads authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at all levels,” Al-Dulami said.
