Saudi Arabia is gearing up for the 2027 Hajj season with the sixth Hajj Conference and Exhibition, set to take place in Jeddah from November 8 to 11.
A Unified Effort for Better Pilgrim Services
The event will bring together more than 520 local and international organizations to explore ways to improve pilgrimage services, strengthen coordination, and enhance preparations for the upcoming season.
Held under the patronage of King Salman, the conference is organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in cooperation with the Pilgrim Experience Program, a Saudi Vision 2030 initiative focused on improving the journey of pilgrims.
The conference will bring together representatives from government entities, private companies, and nonprofit organizations, as well as officials and specialists working across the Hajj services sector.
How Will Saudi Arabia Prepare for Hajj 2027?
With preparations for the 2027 pilgrimage season approaching a critical stage, discussions will focus on the practical arrangements required to ensure seamless seasonal readiness.
The agenda will cover contracting, operational and organizational planning, new solutions and initiatives, and partnerships aimed at strengthening coordination among service providers.
By bringing together expertise from across the global Hajj services sector, the conference will focus on three main tracks: infrastructure and operational services, empowerment and integration, and sustainable development.
The discussions will delve into the priorities shaping pilgrimage services, from operational coordination to capacity-building and long-term development.
Expanding Opportunities for Innovation
More broadly, the program will extend across more than 15 zones and activities, creating opportunities for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and innovation.
Alongside the Hajj Conference and Hajj Council, this year’s edition will introduce the Awareness and Training Forum for the first time.
This momentum will be complemented by workshops, a hackathon, an entrepreneurship and innovation zone, and a business center, alongside specialized hubs dedicated to technology, health, media, and aviation.
Notably, a dedicated meeting for heads of pilgrim affairs offices will serve as an additional platform for discussing service development, boosting professional ties, and establishing partnerships to support preparations for the upcoming Hajj season.
How Can Global Partnerships Improve Hajj?
The accompanying exhibition will serve as an international meeting point for organizations and service providers from more than 150 countries.
Leaders, representatives of pilgrim affairs offices, and industry specialists will explore opportunities across aviation, transport, hospitality, healthcare, infrastructure, and technology, with additional participation from sectors focused on innovation, workforce development, investment, and business growth.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has invited organizations, industry specialists, and members of the public to register through the conference’s official website ahead of the November event.
How Has the Event Grown?
The Hajj Conference and Exhibition has expanded its reach since its debut, with the previous edition attracting more than 204,000 visitors and hosting 270 exhibitors representing over 150 countries.
Beyond the exhibition floor, the event featured 134 specialized sessions and workshops, while more than 2,600 participants benefited from dedicated training programs.
The conference began in Jeddah in March 2022 under the theme of “Transformation Towards Innovation,” placing operational priorities such as crowd management, waste management, accommodation, catering, healthcare, and transport at the center of its six-track program.
Meanwhile, its second edition followed in January 2023 under the theme “Quality in the Services Ecosystem.” The event hosted more than 60,000 visitors and over 200 companies, alongside 81 local and international speakers, reflecting its greater emphasis on bringing together expertise from across the Hajj services sector.
Remarkably, international cooperation became a prominent feature of the third edition, which welcomed around 100,000 visitors, more than 200 service providers, and representatives from 27 government entities. The gathering also brought together more than 80 ministers and heads of Hajj missions, with Hajj agreements involving 76 countries announced during the event.
Titled “A Passage to the Rituals,” the fourth edition built on this international participation. Held in January, it attracted about 150,000 attendees and hosted 300 exhibitors representing more than 100 countries. Across 75 panel discussions, 150 speakers addressed sector-related issues, while agreements with 77 countries were signed.
