Hail Region Delegation Explores Jordan’s Approach of Archaeological Site Management

A delegation from Hail Region Development Authority has visited Jordan in an exceptional trip to explore advanced practices for developing and managing archaeological and tourist sites, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The visit also seeks to exchange knowledge on the pivotal role of the local community in preserving these locations.

The Saudi delegation visited two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Wadi Rum Protected Area and Petra.

There, they explored ancient inscriptions and gained valuable insights about investment in desert camps.

Moreover, they toured the historical landmarks and visitor centers in Petra to learn more about diverse tourism experiences.

The delegation also visited several cooperative societies and handicraft workshops.

The CEO of the authority, Omar Abduljabbar,‏ noted that the initiative sought to boost knowledge exchange and draw on Jordan’s experience in managing and preserving world-renowned archaeological sites.

Abduljabbar also emphasized the authority’s commitment to aligning its heritage development initiatives with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Hence, it seeks to position Hail as a key destination on the global tourism map.

Through the transformation of historical landmarks into cultural and economic assets, Hail aims to play an effective role on diversifying the Kingdom’s economy while fostering its attractiveness to both tourists and investors.
