Saudi Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services will host the Global Logistics Forum (GLF) in Riyadh from October 12 to 14 with the participation of more than 100 speakers, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Under the auspicious of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the GLF will provide a valuable platform for industry leaders and government representatives to discuss innovative strategies and advancements.
The three-day forum underscores the Kingdom’s initiatives to develop and strengthen logistics centers and improve domestic and international connectivity.
This event will also attract over 10,000 participants from leading global organizations who will address pressing logistics challenges with several discussions on sustainability, supply chain resilience, workforce advancement, and technology adoption.
Revolutionary Transformation
Saudi Arabia’s logistics sector is currently witnessing revolutionary transformation led by cutting-edge technologies and sustainable solutions.
The Kingdom has taken promising steps to strengthen its position as a global logistics hub under Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
Numerous initiatives and efforts have propelled the Kingdom up 17 positions in the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index.
Moreover, the port standings have witnessed remarkable success, with the country climbing to 15th place globally in annual container handling.
Three Saudi ports were also ranked among the world’s 100 largest ports in handling containers, according to Lloyd’s List One Hundred Ports 2024.
Global Connectivity
In line with Saudi Vision 2030, the Kingdom is setting a new standard for global connectivity through massive investments in the Kingdom’s aviation sector, the construction of new airports and the development of infrastructure.
Thus, Saudi Arabia is heading towards a new era of leadership and innovation with an ambitious national vision aiming to redefine the concepts of global trade and logistics.
