Saudi Arabia announced the launch of “Aquarabia” in Qiddiya City, the largest water theme park in the Middle East, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Aquarabia will be the first of its kind in the Kingdom, complementing Six Flags Qiddiya City, the city’s main theme park and the first Six Flags Park to be designed and built outside of North America.
With 22 large rides, including record-breaking waterslides, the new project will attract visitors across the globe and promises amazing and unforgettable experiences.
Spanning an impressive 250,000 square meters, Aquarabia will include the world’s tallest water coaster, the tallest drop body slide, the tallest water slide, and the longest mat racer.
Furthermore, the park will offer the first underwater adventure ride with cutting-edge submersible vehicles.
Aquarabia will provide a great opportunity to adrenaline lovers who will enjoy the park’s extreme watersports zone designed to rafting, kayaking, canyoneering, free solo climbing and cliff jumping, as well as the Kingdom’s first surf pool.
Qiddiya Investment Company Managing Director Abdullah Aldawood commented on the launch: “This announcement marks a significant milestone for Qiddiya City and the entertainment, tourism and sports sector.”
Aquarabia and Six Flags Qiddiya City
Aquarabia complements the city’s flagship theme park, Six Flags Qiddiya City. Both parks offer a unique selection of activities to entertain visitors. Both are situated at a strategic location near to hotels, green spaces, restaurants, and cultural sites.
Located around ancient desert wellsprings in Qiddiya, the new park will reflect the culture and heritage of the city with narrative-based design elements.
Aquarabia involves eight zones, each designed to create thrilling adventures for visitors from all ages. They include family-friendly attractions like Camel Rock and Wave Wadi beach bay to adrenaline-pumping activities at the extreme watersports zone and Viper Canyon adventurous zone.
“As we keep expanding our entertainment offering, Aquarabia and Six Flags Qiddiya City will fulfil the diverse entertainment needs of our community, contribute to the diversification of our economy and create job opportunities in the tourism sector.” Aldawood added.
