Diriyah is celebrating this year’s Saudi Founding Day with vibrant activities under the theme “Ra’e Alawallah”, honoring the legacy of Imam Muhammad bin Saud, the founder of the First Saudi State, establishing Diriyah as a beacon of culture and knowledge. He sowed the seeds of prosperity, leading to the flourishing of an agricultural society focused on trade, education and securing passage for pilgrim caravans. This culminated in the construction of the protective wall of Diriyah.

Diriyah has launched a diverse range of activations and experiences for visitors who will embark on a unique journey through time, exploring the rich history of the First Saudi State, envisioning the future of the vibrant projects under development.
Bujairi Terrace
The festivities began in Bujairi Terrace, where visitors were warmly welcomed with the renowned Diriyah hospitality, enjoying Saudi coffee and dates, immersing them in the authentic customs of Diriyah. Cultural performances, including captivating Ardah and Samri shows, filled the air with excitement and enthusiasm.
Founding Day
Visitors will also be able to enjoy a variety of experiences, including interactive displays in various zones such as the photo booth in Bujairi Terrace which offers visitors the ability to capture memorable moments of their Founding Day visit. They can also choose to try on a wide range of traditional clothing from that era and capture unique photos of their experience. A series of workshops aimed at raising awareness of heritage and traditional crafts will be held, along with shadow puppet shows that provide an entertaining and educational experience for children. Cultural sessions (Medad Cultural Talk) at Bab Samhan Hotel, featuring discussions about the Kingdom’s history and rich heritage. A number of Diriyah families will participate in the “Community Feast” event, serving traditional dishes to visitors in Adhwaihrah in a lively setting adorned with beautiful lights and decoration in celebration of this occasion.
Ardha of First Saudi State
The festivities continue until Sunday, February 23, 2025, with a number of activities planned, including the grand Ardha performance (the Ardha of the First Saudi State) with 300 performers, and the Royal Guard Parade with 450 participants in Wadi Hanifah. Visitors will also be able to listen to various stories of the Saudi State through the “Rawi Diriyah” program in Adhwaihrah, which presents fascinating historical tales from the storytellers who won previous editions of the competition. In addition, a variety of events and activities will take place in the historic At-Turaif district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Bujairi Terrace through the special Founding Day activations of the Diriyah Season.
