The Ministry of Education and the General Authority for Defense Development, in collaboration with Tuwaiq Academy, the National Company for Mechanical Systems, and the Colleges of Excellence, launched the Defensethon challenge at the World Defense Show 2026 to enhance the skills of middle school, high school, and university students.
Defensethon focuses on building national capacity across four key areas: programming, robotics, aviation and unmanned vehicles, and digital manufacturing. Using a competitive format, it aims to inspire innovative thinking in defense technologies.

Set to begin in March, the challenge will unfold over three educational phases, culminating in the final competition at the Education Global Exhibition 2026.
Registration for the challenge is now open at https://defensethon.tuwaiq.edu.sa/.
