Crown Prince Sponsors 2nd Edition of “Saudi Cup” Race Ceremony
On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Honorary President of the Horse Racing Club, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, sponsored the second edition of the Saudi Cup race ceremony, which is considered the most expensive race in the history of world horse racing, at King Abdulaziz Equestrian Square in Riyadh.
Upon his arrival, His Highness the Crown Prince was received by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, and His Royal Highness Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al-Faisal, Adviser at the Royal Court, Chairman of the Equestrian Authority, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Horse Racing Club, and His Royal Highness Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Austria, member of the Board of Directors of the Horse Racing Club.
After His Highness the Crown Prince took his place on the main stage, the royal anthem was played. Then the horses participating in the race moved from the parade yard to the parade ground in front of His Highness the Crown Prince in a two-round parade prior to the start of the race, and all the horsemen participating in the race were present in the parade ground.
After the end of the race, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, went to the handover stand, offering congratulations to His Royal Highness Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Faisal, the horse owner of “Musharraf,” who lifted up the Saudi Cup winning the race.
His Highness the Heir Apparent congratulated the horse trainer, Mr. John Gossden, and the imaginary David Igen, who received a horse model and a fantasy helmet.
Then His Highness, the Crown Prince, left the headquarters of King Abdulaziz Equestrian Square, saying goodbye to what was received by him as warm hospitality.
The ceremony was also attended by the sister Kingdom of Bahrain, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Commission of the Rashid Equestrian Club And horse racing, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Excellencies, the top guests of the Saudi Cup ceremony and a number of participating horse owners.
