Coronavirus vaccine: 98% of Saudi elderly are immunized
The Saudi Ministry of Health achieved high rates of immunizing the elderly (60 years old and over) with the coronavirus vaccine.
The vaccination rates in Hafr Al-Batin reached 98%, Al-Ahsa 93%, Al-Qurayyat 93%, Bisha 86%, Riyadh 83%, the Eastern Province 80%, and Taif 80%. These percentages were achieved after vaccinating the target group with at least one dose.
Since the start of the national vaccination campaign, the Ministry of Health has targeted the elderly among the priority groups. The government launched the priority service with the possibility of rapid vaccination to those over 75 years old.
The service is for citizens and residents without registration, appointment or waiting, directly by visiting the nearest vaccination centre in all regions and governorates of Saudi Arabia.
To those who are not part of priority groups, the Ministry of Health called out for registering through the My Health App, stressing that the vaccines approved in the Kingdom are effective and safe.
