Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Border Guards has urged beachgoers to abide by maritime safety guidelines, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The directorate advised them not to swim in undesignated areas and asked them to take care for their children while on the beach.
In addition, it advised then to adhere to all the necessary precautions to ensure safety.
In this context, the directorate stressed its dedication to boosting safety measures through the deployment of additional maritime patrols as well as search and rescue teams.
It also underscored the significance of ensuring the readiness of marine vessels and safety equipment, along with getting the required permits before sailing.
Crucially, it asked all citizens to contact the following numbers in emergency cases:
- 911 in Makkah and Eastern regions
- 994 in the rest of the Kingdom
