His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met today at the headquarters of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital, Baku, with the Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov
During the meeting, the two ministers held an official session of talks, during which they reviewed aspects of relations between the Kingdom and Azerbaijan, ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields, in addition to discussing the most prominent issues of common interest.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan hosted a lunch in honor of His Highness the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting and the discussion session were attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah bin Khudair, and the Director General of the Office of His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Rahman Al-Daoud.
His Highness Saudi Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov participated in the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was held at the headquarters of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital, Baku, today.
At the beginning of the event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan praised the historical relations between the Kingdom and Azerbaijan, which span nearly 30 years of communication and dialogue at the bilateral and multilateral levels to serve issues of common concern.
In his opening speech to this ceremony, Minister Bayramov announced his country’s support for the Kingdom’s candidacy to host the “Expo 2030” exhibition in Riyadh, praising the Kingdom’s historical stances in supporting Azerbaijan at all levels, and that his country’s government is looking forward to consolidating and strengthening this relationship.
His Highness the Saudi FM explained that the aspects of cooperation between the two countries are numerous, most notably investing in the energy field by signing a memorandum of understanding to generate electricity in the Caspian Sea during this year 2022, as well as laying the foundation stone for the “Khizi Absheron” wind power plant, which aims to produce electric power with a capacity of 240 megawatts, with an investment value up to 300 million dollars.
His Highness the Saudi FM explained that the relations between the two countries have proven their strength through consensus in visions on many topics and issues of common interest, as well as through continuous coordination and cooperation at the bilateral level, and within the framework of international institutions, especially the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the UN, as well as close cooperation. In “OPEC” and the “OPEC Plus” group, which contributed to achieving the common interests of the two countries.
