Back to Omrah Gradually Increases the Revenue of the Hospitality Sector by 10% in Makkah
The expectations have increased for an increase in the occupancy rate of hotels in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, with the third stage of the return of Umrah, which will start next Sunday, as hotel occupancy is expected to reach 10% during that stage.
The head of the Hotel Committee at the Chamber of Commerce in Makkah, Abdullah Falali, said, according to the “Makkah” newspaper, that the occupancy of the hotels in the Holy Capital will not be great during the third period of the return of Umrah and the gradual visit.
Especially since most hotels will not open during this period, due to their high occupancy and costs, in addition to the low occupancy at this stage.
He pointed out that the hotels of the Azizia region will benefit more from the central region in terms of their occupancy with visitors and pilgrims who come with dates for visit and prayer while adhering to the precautionary measures to enter the Grand Mosque, and therefore some of them will prefer to stay outside the central area.
He stressed that the hotel occupancy rate will increase with the opening of the Umrah and the visit completely and the return of the situation to what it was before the “Corona” pandemic.
It is noteworthy that the third phase of the return of Umrah begins on Rabi Al-Awwal 12, 1422 AH, corresponding to November 1, 2020, at 20% of the capacity of the campus (20 thousand pilgrims and 60 thousand worshipers per day), and also witness the reception of pilgrims from outside the Kingdom.
