The Citrus Harvest Season kicked off in AlUla, ushering in a promising season with remarkable agricultural production, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Covering roughly 654.57 hectares, AlUla’s citrus groves are home to more than 261,826 trees, producing about 6,545.65 tons of fruit annually.
The event showcases the diverse range of citrus fruits cultivated in AlUla including navel oranges, citron, and sweet lemons.
These high-quality fruits are generally known for their superiority especially when it comes to AlUla’s fertile soil and unique climate, ensuring delicious flavor with high nutritional value.
Citrus Season, which runs until March, stands out as a unique platform that celebrates AlUla’s framers and showcases their excellence and expertise.
The event spotlights the beauty of AlUla and its agricultural heritage and positions the governorate as a prestigious agritourism hub in Saudi Arabia.
It also stimulates economic growth and supports local farmers while boosting the national agricultural sector and advancing economic diversification in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
