Every year during the Winter, snow builds up in the Tabuk region’s town of Alqan, blanketing its mountains in white.

Alqan has a distinct advantage and an attractive aesthetic that makes it a popular winter travel destination. It blends natural features like dunes and unusual mountain formations.

 

Alqan’s History

Alqan has been recognized as a stop on the historic trade route that led across the Arabian Peninsula.

Through Alqan, horsemen and caravans traveled between different human civilizations.

It is now a popular destination for people looking to experience the natural beauty of the Hasma Desert, a well-known desert in the KSA.

Natural Uniqueness in Alqan

The Saudi Press Agency crew monitored the natural evidence in Alqan by highlighting its distinctive topography. The crew saw red sand and towering mountains.

The group came upon other hikers camping and spending time outdoors. The hikers expressed their love for Alqan especially for the scene of flowers scattered across like a carpet.

Tabuk native Saad Al-Anazi said that visitors love to walk in Alqan and the adjacent natural areas all year round, but especially on the weekends.

He added that Alqan has a distinctive feature in Winter as the weather tends to be mild in the daytime. Thus, visitors can practice several activities and sports, according to Anazi.

Moreover, when the night falls, people sit together and start chatting about their memories, filling the place with a warm atmosphere.

 

Winter Trips in Alqan

Another hiker, Abd Alelah Al-Nasser, expressed his enjoyment when visiting Alqan in Winter. He said it’s fun to go for walks in Winter, especially for kashta enthusiasts.

Al-Nasser added that the weather in Winter tends to be quite cold, especially in the evenings. He believes that it’s great to spend the night with people who love such winter trips.

Al-Nasser encouraged those who like trips to consider the surroundings and the state of cleanliness before departing.

He said that Alqan is one of the most attractive locations due to the splendor of its uncommon rocky and sandy components.
