In collaboration with Boeing, Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) has launched a month-long practical training program for aerospace engineering students, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Boeing is a well-known and pioneering company specialized in designing and manufacturing aircraft and space and defense systems.
Promising Objectives
The program has set the following objectives:
- Developing national talents
- Acquiring practical experience in the space sector
- Promoting human capabilities in aerospace engineering and sciences
- Fostering professional growth and skills development in space technologies
- Preparing students for the job market
Phases of the Program
The program is divided into two phases:
- The theoretical phase
It will take place at a Boeing facility in Texas and include NASA architectural design studies from the moon to Mars.
- The practical phase
During the second phase, students will work at a company site in Alabama on applicable projects such as the Carbon Dioxide Removal System for lunar and Martian applications.
The program is one of a wide series of the CST’s educational and training programs launched in collaboration with various local and international partners. CST is currently pursuing to boost the Kingdom’s capabilities in the space sector and training the next generation of professionals to lead this sector in the future.
