Al-Qurayyat General Hospital Performs 9,465 Surgical Operations

Al-Qurayyat General Hospital, one of the components of Al-Jouf Health Cluster, completed more than 9,465 surgical operations until the end of the third quarter (January-September). Distributed among the various departments in the hospital, the operations took place over 9 months of the current year 2023.
Ranking of Departments
The Al-Jouf Health Cluster explained that operations in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department ranked first in terms of the number of operations performed by Al-Qurayyat General Hospital. Operations in this department amounted to 4,934 operations between natural childbirths and cesarean sections. In second place came operations in the one-day surgery department with 2,854 operations. In addition, emergency operations reached 1,812 operations.
Breakdown of the Operations
It stated that the number of specific operations at the General Hospital reached 753 operations during the same period. Gastric sleeve operations amounted to 73 operations, while interventional vascular surgery amounted to 14 operations. As for knee arthroscopy operations, it reached 12 operations, in addition to 5 operations to replace bipolar hip joints. There were 303 cases of cardiac catheterization, in addition to 26 surgical procedures for cardiac surgery. Moreover the hospital performed 311 gastrointestinal endoscopy operations, and 9 cases of Peritone catheter installation.
The cluster pointed out that the hospital performed 1,638 operations in other specialties during the same period. Therefore, the total total of surgical operations performed by the hospital until the end of the third quarter of this year is 9,465 operations.
