KSA Launches Initiatives for Healthy Ageing
While the quest to extend healthy life is a global concern, Saudi Arabia has launched significant governmental initiatives. These healthy-ageing initiatives aim to enable its citizens to live longer, healthier lives, aspiring to reach an average lifespan of 80 years.
Hevolution’s Charitable Foundation
Saudi Arabia has initiated notable programs like the creation of the Hevolution Charitable Foundation. This foundation launched the first World Summit on Healthy Ageing, focusing on a shared vision for the future of aging.

Mehmood Khan, CEO of Hevolution Charitable Foundation, shares that while geriatric care is common globally and in the KSA, Saudi Arabia lacks specialists in slowing down or preventing aging. Therefore, Hevolution aims to train the first generation of Saudi scientists and doctors in this field, with initiatives already underway this year. Imed Gallouzi, a professor and head of the Smart Health Initiative at KAUST, notes the societal benefits of an aging population in good health. This leads to benefiting from the experience of the old which culminates in significant economic returns.
Global Initiatives and Investments
Moreover, Hevolution Charitable Foundation has launched pioneering global initiatives. These initiatives aim to boost investment and research to accelerate scientific discoveries in field of aging. Announcing funding of around $100 million, the foundation’s current financial commitments in this sector have reached approximately $250 million.
