The Municipality of Al-Baha has launched the “Al-Baha Green Hour” initiative in support of the Saudi Green Initiative that seeks to decrease carbon emissions and drive sustainability efforts across the region, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
For one hour, non-essential lighting was switched off across 28 buildings and 40 secondary streets, alongside participation from several residential neighborhoods and houses.
However, essential safety lighting remained in operation to ensure public security.

The initiative aims to reinforce public awareness of energy conservation and encourage community engagement in environmental protection, while advancing sustainability goals and promoting overall quality of life.
Such efforts stand as a testament to the municipality’s dedication to improving the urban landscape and diving the Kingdom’s sustainable future.
