Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Development Authority (Saudi Exports), Bandar Alkhorayef, announced a historic performance for the Kingdom’s non-oil exports, confirming that the Kingdom’s non-oil exports reached a staggering SAR307 billion during the first half of this year. This remarkable milestone represents the highest semiannual growth ever recorded, powerfully demonstrating the nation’s rising industrial strength and global competitiveness.
Vision 2030 Drives Unprecedented Export Momentum
Alkhorayef spoke at a high-level dialogue session during the ongoing ‘Made in Saudi Expo 2025’ alongside the Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, Dr. Mohammad Nidal Al-Shaar. He firmly stated that the foundational Saudi Vision 2030 and its robust national initiatives drove this record performance and sustained export growth over the past few years.
Consequently, these comprehensive programs successfully unlocked national industrial capabilities while simultaneously enhancing the inherent quality of Saudi products. Furthermore, the Kingdom focused intently on expanding market access for these improved products across complex global supply chains.
Expanding Industrial Cooperation with Syria
The Minister notably highlighted compelling opportunities for future industrial cooperation between the two friendly nations, focusing heavily on joint development of industrial cities. Therefore, Saudi Arabia can enable Syria to benefit directly from the Kingdom’s extensive, successful experience in export development strategies and local content support.
This pivotal collaboration promises to strongly contribute toward Syria’s broader economic growth and long-term industrialization efforts.
Alkhorayef praised the remarkable level of efficiency, skill, and impressive craftsmanship actively demonstrated by Syrian investors working within the Kingdom’s thriving industrial sector. He strongly voiced his anticipation that the robust industrial sector would become a key foundational pillar supporting Syria’s eventual economic advancement.
Finally, he detailed significant trade development, noting that Saudi non-oil exports to Syria already totaled SAR1.2 billion during the first nine months of the current year, 2025.
