Riyadh Leads Coordination Meeting of Global Alliance for Two-State Solution

Saudi Arabia hosted on Sunday a high-level coordination meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution in Riyadh, according to Arab News.

Chaired by Saudi Arabia, Norway and the European Union, the meeting discussed ongoing efforts to defend the Palestinian cause and ensure the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid in Gaza following a ceasefire deal brokered by the United States.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs was represented by Manal bint Hassan Radwan who underscored the Kingdom’s dedication to maintaining peace, stability, and establishment of a state for Palestinians.

Radwan also noted that the Palestinian statehood is regional and international priority and moral responsibility. Therefore, establishing the state represents a critical condition for ensuring regional and international peace and security.

The meeting delved into the implementation of the New York Declaration and US President Donald Trump’s peace plan on Gaza.

The meeting also sought to lay the foundations for a comprehensive and implementable work program to manage the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The participants renewed the urgent call for the international community to provide immediate financial support amid the continued withholding of Palestinian clearance revenues.

In September 2024, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan had launched the global alliance on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. Prince Faisal also affirmed that the two-state solution is the only way to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
