Madinah Tops Saudi Cities in Hospitality Occupancy

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism announced that Madinah has topped all Saudi cities in occupancy rates for tourist hospitality facilities with 74.7% during the first half of 2025, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

According to the report, the number of licensed hospitality facilities in the city has increased to 538, with 69 new establishments recently added, signaling the sector’s ongoing expansion.

Moreover, the total hotel room capacity has risen to 64,569, bolstered by 6,628 additional rooms introduced during the same period.

This remarkable growth mirrors Madinah‘s position as a major destination for hospitality and religious tourism.

Currently, the ministry is carrying out major development projects to further increase capacity, promote the quality of services, and elevate the visitor experience, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.

This recognition comes at a crucial time as the city is hosting the Madinah Visions project, the largest hospitality project in the world.

It seeks to further solidifies Madinah’s position as an exceptional destination that welcomes millions of visitors annually and provides them with an integrated hospitality environment.
