
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Finance, Mohammed Aljadaan, led the Kingdom’s delegation to the 124th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee, held Thursday in Kuwait.
The session was chaired by Kuwait’s Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Acting Minister of Finance, and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem, with participation from GCC finance ministers and GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohammed Albudaiwi.

Discussions focused on strengthening financial and economic cooperation among member states and reviewing progress toward regional integration. Key topics included updates from the Customs Union Authority, efforts to finalize Customs Union requirements, and the periodic report on advancing the Gulf Common Market.

On the sidelines, Aljadaan also attended a joint meeting of GCC finance ministers and central bank governors with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. The discussion centered on an IMF paper titled “Enhancing Resilience to Global Shocks: Economic Prospects and Policy Challenges for the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries (2025).”
