The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) announced that, beginning October 1, suppliers must obtain a consignment certificate before submitting customs declarations for imported goods.
The requirement applies to all imported products, regardless of whether they are subject to technical regulations. Certificates can be issued electronically via the Saber platform (saber.sa).

SASO urged suppliers and customs brokers to complete verification procedures early, work with accredited conformity assessment bodies, and prepare conformity documents or self-declarations through Saber prior to shipment.
