General Court of Audit Participates in INTOSAI Professional Standards Committee Meeting

The General Court of Audit (GCA), represented by Vice President of Financial Audit and Compliance, Lama Alhammadi, took part in the 27th Steering Meeting of the Professional Standards Committee of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). The meeting was held in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and brought together senior representatives from numerous supreme audit institutions and international organizations.

Among the participants were officials from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the World Bank, and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). The meeting included a series of discussion panels aimed at shaping the committee’s 2026–2028 work plan. Topics covered included the implementation challenges of international standards for supreme audit institutions, the integration of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in audit processes, and leading practices in sustainability reporting. Additionally, participants also reviewed INTOSAI’s strategic development plan, emphasizing its significance in improving the quality of public sector auditing globally.

In her remarks, Alhammadi emphasized the GCA’s initiatives to enhance professional capabilities among its auditors, ensuring that their work adheres to international best practices and advanced methodologies. Moreover, these initiatives are aligned with INTOSAI’s Framework of Professional Pronouncements and the standards established by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB).

Finally, the GCA’s involvement in the meeting underscores its dedication to contributing to global knowledge exchange and reinforcing its role within international and regional audit organizations.
