Saudi Minister of Municipalities and Housing Visits US, Inaugurates ‘Sakani’ Exhibition
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, commenced an official visit to the United States yesterday to enhance the bilateral cooperation in the urban development, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The minister will meet several U.S. government officials, major construction and real estate development companies, and financing agencies to foster Saudi Arabia’s construction and real estate sectors.
The visit basically aims at attracting pioneering American companies to start their investment projects in the Kingdom’s real estate development, finance, supply chains, modern construction technologies, and urban infrastructure sectors.
Furthermore, Al-Hogail will review the successful American experiences and projects in urban development and explore innovative ways to professional employ them in the Kingdom.
Launching Sakani Exhibition
The visit featured the inauguration of the Sakani exhibition at the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission in Washington.
As one of the Saudi Vision 2030 programs, Sakani provides housing solutions and options for Saudi families, empowering them to own their houses through smooth and facilitated procedures.
In line with the objectives of the Housing Program, the exhibition targets Saudi families residing in the United States to inform them of the housing options and financing solutions provided by the Sakani Program.
These options include:
- Purchasing ready-made residential units
- Residential units under construction in the off-plan model within suburbs and integrated residential communities that provide more than just housing
- Self-construction for those who own land and wish to build it themselves with various financing support packages that suit all categories
In the same context, Al-Hogail toured the exhibition sections and investigated its services stressing the significance of providing integrated services to Saudi families and facilitating all necessary procedures. Furthermore, the minister met with several Saudi students who are studying in the United States of America and listened to their views and suggestions concerning the development of the housing sector.
