In recent years, the Governor of Madinah, Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, has shown a commendable initiative in launching platforms aimed at regional development. Two notable endeavors include the initiation of an E-platform in 2020 and the organization of the “Smart Madinah Forum” in 2023.

In 2020, an E-platform named “Madinah Projects” was launched to keep the citizens informed about the progress of various development projects within the Madinah region.

This platform was developed by the Madinah Regional Development Authority and aimed at reviewing the ongoing developmental projects categorized into infrastructure and digital realms. It served as a transparent medium for the citizens to track the advancements in the region’s infrastructure.

Moreover, Prince Faisal mandated the relocation of all industrial activities, warehouses, and car maintenance workshops to designated zones outside urban areas within two years.

He also reviewed the performance of municipal authorities, stressing the importance of easy access to their services for the public, and discussed plans for allocating spaces for educational institutions in every neighborhood.

Furthermore, The term “Madinah development platform” encapsulates the region’s commitment to leveraging digital technology to accelerate regional development.

The initiatives reflect a progressive approach toward fostering a digitally enabled community, enhancing transparency, and promoting sustainable urban development in the Madinah region.
