EU Aviation Agency Extends Advisory Against Flights Over Iran, Iraq, Lebanon Until Aug. 31

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on Wednesday advised airlines to avoid operating in the airspace of Iran, Iraq and Lebanon until Aug. 31, citing persistent regional tensions and the risk of further military escalation.
EASA said the advisory remains in effect through Aug. 31 and is based on the continued high level of tensions and the potential for renewed military action.

The updated guidance followed claims by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards that they had targeted U.S. military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait on Wednesday. The reported attacks came after U.S. strikes on Iran, launched following attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that Washington would either reach an agreement with Iran or “finish the job,” reiterating the possibility of further military action.

EASA said the ceasefire between the United States and Iran remained fragile and warned that, if it collapsed, Iranian airspace could face “imminent threats.”
