Saudi Arabia Advances Smart Mobility Partnerships at China’s Logistics Expo

Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority (TGA) has boosted the Kingdom’s transport and logistics ties at Transport Logistic China 2026, held in Shanghai.

On the exhibition’s first day, the TGA signed seven agreements and strategic partnerships that solidify Saudi Arabia’s standing in the international transport and logistics sector, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Authority also highlighted the Kingdom’s supportive regulatory environment for investment and innovation, while showcasing over 75 promising opportunities currently emerging within its transport and logistics sector.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia – represented by TGA’s Deputy Governor for Transport Enablement Omaimah Bamasag – and China signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Saudi digital solutions company Elm and Shenzhen Smart City.

The agreement aims to foster collaboration on smart mobility and self-driving vehicles, while adopting cutting-edge technologies that accelerate digital transformation and optimize service efficiency across the industry.

In her remarks during the exhibition’s opening session, Bamasag detailed the TGA’s vision for driving modern, sustainable mobility through a flexible regulatory framework that fuels innovation, boosts investment, and accelerates the localization of advanced transport technologies.

Additionally, she hosted a specialized workshop outlining the strategic targets of the Kingdom’s logistics sector, emphasizing its investor-friendly regulations and promising investment opportunities.

During Transport Logistic China 2026, the TGA held bilateral meetings with the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Transport and visited Huawei to review the latest developments in smart transportation and AI. The meetings centered around bolstering partnerships, exchanging expertise, and exploring opportunities for future cooperation.

The TGA pavilion was part of Saudi Arabia’s Transport and Logistics System exhibition space, which comprised 25 government and private-sector entities.

It showcased key regulatory reforms, digital initiatives, and innovative solutions that have led the transformation in the Kingdom’s transport sector, enabling investments and increasing private-sector participation under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.
